What the heck!!! It's gonna be almost an year and I've not put up a post on my blog even once :(

This "starting a blog" thingy has always been in my mind - thanks to the hundreds of blogs I go through and a equally good no. of mentions by my friends.

And then came the idea of making money out of a blog. Gosh! That was a great idea! Who doesn't like to make some quick bucks on the trot, 'cos all you've got to do is place your backside firmly on a seat in front of the computer and type away - and Lo! You've got your coin box tinkling...

Sigh!!! If it was only so easy. Some things were conveniently forgotten.

First, it's not that easy to "place your backside firmly on a seat in front of the computer and type away" - I am quite lazy. Even if I manage to sit down to type, three keystrokes down the line, my mind just goes blank. What next? What was the topic, theme I was thinking about? Everything gone.

Next is that "coin box tinkling" matter. That does not happen to the best of writers for the simple reason - readership/viewership. In other words, the number of hits your blog gets. There are some other stuff too which factor in raking in the moola, of which I am blissfully ignorant.

Today however, I have made up my mind to start posting stuff. Anything and everything that would come up in my mind. And I hope to continue to do it...

I ask a lot of questions. No, I change a lot of my statements to questions. Why? It induces people to respond. As a rule, questions beget more responses than statements. That way, I'm sure to elicit an answer - from myself or from someone else - most of the time. I naturally do ask a lot of questions - to myself. The Million Dollar Suitcase - A Puzzle

Sometime back, I encountered a puzzle posted by a member in a LinkedIn group. It was called a Million Dollar Suitcase . A scenario with a challenge was described and we had to find a solution. It went like this: Three suitcases are all labeled incorrectly, and you must get the labels right in order to find the million dollar suitcase (the one full of hundred dollar bills).  The labels on the suitcases read as follows: $100 Bills $1 Bills Both ($100 & $1 Bills) You are allowed one test. You may remove only one bill from a single suitcase, after which you must make your determination. You can’t peek into the suitcases. Can you find the million dollar suitcase? The Solution I read about it and devised a solution before checking it out on the site. Importance of this huge UP mandate, and the ways in which it will spill over, beyond today's results. Parliament and State Assemblies BJP & NDA gain majority in both houses of the parliament. They are also in power, in about a dozen state assemblies. This will impact two issues. Presidential Elections   Narendra Modi and Amit Shah can comfortably appoint the person of their choice to be the next President. In line with this, they can - the must - use the additional support to appoint the right people in key institutions - and I hope they go into serious detail, not just stopping with Governors and Chief Justices. We are in a dire need of replacement for those old fossil remnants of a foregone socialist era.
